Small deposit scheme for girls met a great response by the people of Srinagar, Kashmir. More than 80,000 people subscribed to the Sukanya Samriddhi Account scheme.
When the celebration became grand
The Chief Postmaster General announced about the small deposit scheme for girls during The National postal Week celebrations. He furthered the level of celebration by announcing that more than 2.5 lakh is the target number of accounts, which is going to be achieved very soon. The national postal week is celebrated every year from 9th October to 15th October. This is to commemorate the Universal postal union.
Postal Service is better and more opportune now!
The government is working to improve every sector –so is the case with the postal sector. According to the chief postal general the postal service in Jammu Kashmir is going to get stronger by the entrance of 142 more people, who are going to join the workforce next month. In addition, like digital India, 1450 existing branch postal offices will be computerized by the end of next year for the better and enhanced postal service in the state. India having one of the largest networks of post offices in the world is working hard to improve the quality of service of 1,55,000 post offices nationwide, which are serving the country for the past one and a half century.
Post offices have improved services
With latest technology and improved ways of communication, the department of post is trying to enhance its services even better now. The old services such as parcel, mail, money orders, post office life insurance, post office saving accounts and other services are improved now.
With digitalization of post office services, people are going to be facilitated with amazing services such as
computerized mails, bookings, trace and track services, registered letters, speed posts, money orders and parcels. And with an advancement of e-money, the post office is going to offer electronic money service very soon.
All departments of the post offices are going to have basic banking services such as post office savings bank after digitalization of the departments. In the span of three to four months, 13 post offices will have ATM machine services to facilitate the people.
